Amanda Brugel
Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 - Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet town located on the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. The West Island has a lot of communities. People who have never been aware of it frequently mistake it for a separate island facing west. Amanda Brugel was born there, but her time was not long in the city. Brugel was raised in Courtice outside Oshawa Ontario. In her early years she hoped to become the next big thing in her career, but a sudden expansion of her body made it impossible. In an article in the Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6'1 inch. When I grew out of my male counterparts, I gave up. Bruce was among the former dancers that turned to acting. Her high school teacher school was what pushed her in the right direction. Her teacher invited her to audition for a part in a school production. She was the teacher who suggested that she go after a role in the school's annual production. This led to her being awarded an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000 she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts at York University. Since then, Brugel's been in over 60 productions both smaller and large. One of the most memorable was the time she was cast as Rita on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the sole Canadian of the season 1 The Handmaid's Tale cast and seen only occasionally, was the only Canadian.
